News & Update, February 2009.

Were Back…
We would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to Addicted to Xbox. If you were a regular visitor to our site back in October/November 2008 then you may have been shocked to find that until now, we haven’t been able to support/publish the site until recently. This is not just due to the lack of service from our hosts, but from the mindlessness of certain individuals who find it amusing to hack and take down sites rendering them inoperable.

Since then, we have managed to regain some files and place them on our new server and so we are back to business as usual. Some of you who joined our site around the period when we were hacked, your details may not have been backed up. Therefore, you will need to re-enter your details (Appologies).

New Moderator…
First of all, we would like to thank you for coming back to us and with this second (and hopefully the last) launch of addictedtoxbox.com we have decided to recruit a new moderator. Not that Darksec is incapable of moderating the site but our friend Scooby_D0o has been with us from the beginning and contributed a lot to our small (but growing) community already. His technical knowledge im sure will come in handy should anyone experience any hardware difficulties.

Site Updates…
So what’s happening this month? Well, you will notice some changes on the forum. Just to bring us back inline with other related sites. The blog is gone, what’s the point if we can use this space to bring you news and updates (just keep it simple).

We are looking for people to join our new Clan. We haven’t decided on a name just yet but its just for fun so that we can promote the site through word of mouth.

As always, we welcome ideas to improve the site. We do have a discussion in our forum which is interesting and will no doubt be a challenge to us if we decide to take some of these ideas on. On that note, a PM was received by one of the administrators asking for ladies body parts to be posted on the site. As appealing this may be to millions of guys (and some women), people do actually contribute to this site from their place of work, therefore this kind of content will be refused at all times! (Nice try though BenjiMeatfists).

Releases to look forward to this month…
We are looking forward to hearing people’s views and opinions on Halo Wars which is to be released shortly. The screenshots I have seen look almost the double of other certain games (Command & Conquer or Age of Empires). I do hope the game play is a lot more user friendly than its competitor. For me, these kind of games should only be played on the PC, so if Microsoft can pull this one off it will be a great feat for sure and no doubt result in my custom.

And…
Going retro with the release of Street Fighter IV? Who remembers this from their schooling days? Everyone I should think. Ryu and Ken return with even more newer faces to do battle and this episode is set to be all time best SF's of all time.
